Response from the IMF to a GTI letter demanding a timely transparency policy review
The GTI sent a letter to the IMF demanding that they conduct the review of their transparency policy in a timely manner. The IMF had originally scheduled a review for the first half of 2008, but subsequently decided to delay the review to sometime in 2009. This response from the IMF to the GTI indicates that they will not conduct the review in a timely manner and do not have any plans for formal consultations with stakeholders on the review.
